Team History

The Bomberos team began back in late 90’s and has evolved into a multi agency hockey club. The original team was mainly filled with Miami Dade players and roller hockey was the focus. As the Florida Firefighter Games moved to Ice hockey so did the team. This brought in players from other local agencies which increased the skill and competition level. Today the team has over 18 players who come from many agencies.

Also through the years we became close with some Air Traffic Controlers who have now become part of our practices and charity events.  These players include Dan Neubecker, Rob Ryan as well as others who have been transfered to others airports around the country.

To date the team has held multiple charity events. These events have benefited injured firefighters, childres with cancer and juvenial diabetes. These events are held annualy at the Bank Atlantic Center.

In more recent history the Bomberos have won the Summer 2009 Mens League at Pines Ice Arena. The final game that won the championship was a Bomberos win with a score of 5-0.
